5 Stars A tip to skip water refilling
We have travertine floor through out the first floor except the kitchen which has wood floor. This works greats with just plain water for cleaning. Since the water storage tank is small, it needs to be refilled often. To skip that step I just sprinkle water all over the house and run the vaccum in wash mode. This also eliminates the need to press the solution release button. If you want to try this please do so with caution as water on the floor makes you slip if you are not careful.

I absolutely love this floor scrubber. I have hardwood, ceramic tile, and linolium throughout my entire house and this is the best hard surface cleaner I have ever used! It makes scrubbing the floor a breeze!

4 Stars Better than scrubbrush and mop
We purchased a 5-year-old foreclosed home in Las Vegas that had had a renter for the past couple of years. I swear the ceramic tile grout had never been cleaned. My husband and I have scrubbed with a toothbrush, a grout brush, Zep grout cleaner and mopped and re-mopped the floor and never got it completely clean. I think a good part of it was we were liquifying the dirt and not able to get the dirty water up with a mop even after rinsing with clear water. When I saw the reviews for this floor scrubber I ordered it immediately. When I first got it together (it takes a bit of assembly out of the box but the directions are pretty clear) I didn’t think there was any way those wimpy brushes would do a good job. And I wasn’t very impressed when I began to use it…until I dumped the first tank of used water (read filthy, grimy, gritty water). I vacuumed the floor first, there was no grit. We’ve been over and over the floor so many times I would have sworn it was clean. Nope. The tiles look better than they ever have and the grout, while not yet perfect, is also looking cleaner by a long shot. I think it will take several applications of grout cleaner to get all the dirt scrubbed out. I’m glad I ordered an extra bottle when I ordered the scrubber. I suggest you do too. You’ll go through cleaning solution pretty quickly. When scrubbing the grout, use the gray brushes, and clean each side of each tile so the length goes along the 5 brushes. Then clean the tile in slow overlapping strokes. While there is a lot of work even with this, it is a vast improvement over mopping because it immediately sucks up the dirty water and the cleaner does not leave behind sticky residue without rinsing. I gave it 4 stars because I think the grout brushes could be stiffer and a bit longer for an even cleaner floor. I haven’t used the floor brushes yet.

I owned the first model that came out years ago-I used it to death!! I wore out the scrubber brushes and sometimes left cleaner in the tanks and the gasket wore out in the cleaner tank. So abuse did occur…….I love this machine and have looked high and low for it in the stores to no avail. I have very wide grout on my 450 sq. foot kitchen/family area and my grout is my nemesis. This machine sucks up the dirty water, not leaving in the grout to stain and stay dirty. From mopping, steaming ect. everything left that dirty water on the grout. Even if I changed my mop bucket over and over, I still had that dirty water sitting in my grout making it dirty. Not w/ the Floormate-because it scrubs the grout, sucks up all that dirty water, it does not sit on the grout. You will be completely amazed at the dirty water you pour out. I have used vinegar and water and other cleaners too, sometimes just water. I am so excited about the on board tools they have now-get those hard to reach spots. My wood floors have done fine w/ it too. I don’t have carpet in my home-just 3 area rugs so you can see why I love this. My floors feel grungy since I have not had one to use and been mopping and dumping my bucket ect. I am so excited I found it, so I can get a new one, why is it not available in most regular stores??????

5 Stars Dyson rocks!
I have been a HUGE fan of Dyson vacuums. I’ve had them for 10 years now. This one is just as good as the full size. Think Great Dane and the amount of hair on the furniture. Works great. The Dane even lets me vacuum her. When you’re done it slides into the charger quite nicely.

4 Stars Unbelievable power; I wish attachments were compatible with my Dyson upright
This is the most powerful handheld vacuum I’ve ever seen. It runs circles around the competition. And like the rest of the Dyson line, it maintains a strong suction even as the chamber fills up. It’s pretty expensive, but it’s so much better than anything else I’ve seen out there, I think you get what you pay for.

I know other reviewers have complained about the 6 minute runtime, but I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. It seems to run at full power right up until the battery goes dead. And if you need to use it for more than 6 minutes on a single charge, you probably should be using a full-size vacuum instead.

My only complaint is that I can’t use attachments from my upright Dyson DC14 Animal. They’re so close in size – they’re just a few millimeters difference in diameter – that it would’ve made sense to just make them interchangeable. That’s the ONLY reason I’m not giving it the full 5 stars.

5 Stars Best Handheld Vac on this Planet
I see most of the negative reviews on here have to do with the 6 minute battery life on the DC16. Let me tell you my experience with this handheld vac from Dyson. I always like to have a handheld vacuum around for small little cleanups and I’ve used endless models throughout my life. Their fates are always the same: they work OK for a few months and then get so clogged and run down that the only appropriate place to keep them is in the garbage can. These kinds of subpar vacuums would certainly NEED a battery life of much more than 6 minutes because their power was so minimal it would simply be impossible to get anything done otherwise.

I have seen this DC16 and DC16 Animal in stores for a little while and I was hesitant to purchase it due to my past experiences with handhelds, even though I have a Dyson DC07 and it’s been going strong for 5+ years. One day, when we were really in need to buying a new handheld, I decided to just take the chance and get this DC16 Animal top-of-the-line, sleek as hell little bad boy.

When I took it home and was reading the directions, I actually laughed my a$$ off at the part where it talked about a 6 minute battery life. I thought that was the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard & I was ready to return it within the next couple weeks if it didn’t perform adequately.

I mostly use these handheld vacuums to clean up stray kitty litter sand around the cat box, for little spills in the kitchen, etc. We usually sweep first and then vacuum everything up. Let me tell you, the first time I used this vacuum I knew there was no way I was going to return it. The power of the suction in this thing puts every worthless handheld I’ve ever used to SHAME. I would suck up the mess & even clean the entire cat mat, making it free of sand with such ease…I was completely floored by it.

It quickly became clear to me that the battery life was totally insignificant. For what I use the DC16 for, I have never even come close to draining 1/3 of the battery life because it is simply so efficient there is no need to make multiple passes. The fact that it is trigger activated also adds to the efficiency without wasting the battery life needlessly.

Now, keep in mind, this is just my review which is mentioning how I use this vacuum. If you are the type of person who wants to use this DC16 to dust every single hard surface, take all the animal hair off of your sheets and comforter, clean the entire kitchen floor & vacuum the entire interior of your car, I’ll tell you right now not to waste your money. This is a handheld vacuum that’s meant to do SMALL jobs. If it’s used in this capacity, I find it hard to believe the 6 minute battery life will ever be an issue. My belief is that if you need more than 6 minutes to do the job, then it should have been done with a big model Dyson or another upright vacuum.

This was the second Dyson product I ever purchased and I love it so much that I just ordered the DC23 Canister Vacuum for the rest of the house. This may be the most expensive handheld out there but I wouldn’t simply buy something for a retarded reason like the fact that it’s “expensive”. This is a piece of engineering art and it is worth every single penny. I’m knocking on wood but I would be really shocked if this vacuum didn’t last 7-10 years. With other handhelds, they would break on me after 12-18 months…at $40-$100 a piece, you can clearly see the winner from an economic point of view.

I really respect Dyson because they are not just hype. They may be a bit pricey sometimes but their quality is simply second to none.

I hope this review helps you make up your mind. The DC16 may not be for everyone but I couldn’t imagine going back my previous nightmare life of endless disappointments by Dyson’s so called “competitors”.

5 Stars Good for the right use
I love this thing because it does what I need it to do: Pick up dog hair in between weekly vacuuming. I run it at least once a day over the whole downstairs — hard wood floors and a piece of one rug. Its just incredible at picking up dog hair on floors and carpets. Yes, the battery is short but I agree with other reviewers that if you need to do more work you should get out the big vacuum! Also, its so easy to empty unlike my other dustbuster. It picks up dog hair so much better than my other dustbuster too.

5 Stars It works!!!
We’ve got two short-haired dogs. One of the reasons that we bought the breed is because of their “very little shedding.” Surprise! Those little hairs are everywhere and they are very stubborn. I’ve purchased two hand vacuums and the Dyson upright previously. None of them has the power of the Dyson Animal Handheld. We are very happy with our purchase. It does the job and does it quickly. I would highly recommend this product!!!

5 Stars I’ve got carpeting throughout my house
I’ve only had to replace this product once in the past three years. It holds up well, and the only reason it wore out this time is because my sister didn’t notice when she sucked up a sock into the intake. I will say that it is a horrible smell when it melts. All in all, though, it is easy to install and a tremendous bargain compared to some products.

2 Stars Water water, everywhere…
I wanted to like this thing. And to be honest it actually does a good job of cleaning. Unfortunately it makes a big mess. Water everywhere. The sprayer, sprays out from the sides and not just on the area you are cleaning. It does an excellent job of getting everything in the room wet. Not recommended if you plan to clean indoors…

4 Stars Cleans a little too good
I’ve used this product to clean up stains from my puppies and normal wear around the house. This bissell cleans my beige carpets so well that I have white ring marks that stand out from the rest of the carpet. I had the house professionally carpet cleaned 3 months prior to using this product. After the first time I’ve stopped putting solution in the carpet cleaner and cleaned with either straight water or with spot shot pretreatment and it’s been better.

I recently got new carpets. I ordered the Bissell before they were even installed to ensure that I could keep them looking new if there were any accidents. I have an old cat who loves to vomit and use the carpet as toilet paper. I used to use a pet odor&stain remover spray and a sponge. It never fully got out the stain. This carpet cleaner was great. It is the perfect size so it is very portable. It is so easy to use. You can prefill the machine so it is ready for any accidents. When something needs to be cleaned up, all you have to do is turn on the machine and remove the stain. It completely removed all the accidents. When finished, just empty the side that has the dirty water and you are ready for the next time something happens. The carpets even smell great after you are done. This is one of the best purchases I have made. I would highly recommend this product.

We have an older dog who has a delicate stomach. We got the green machine to help clean up her accidents.

We are happy with the results, except for one thing. When you spray on the solution, it is too wide a spray. In order to spray on only the spot, you have to hold the wand sideways, and still get solutiion on parts of the carpet you don’t need to get wet.

Other than that, we are happy with the Green Machine.

4 Stars Nice little cleaner
Ordered this thing as a birthday gift for my mother to use for cleaning the carpet in her truck. Ordered it late Tuesday evening and had it in my hands early Friday afternoon with free shipping thanks to Amazon Prime. I’ve been using it around the house for a couple of days now to make sure it works well. I felt like I was taking a fairly large risk after reading the reviews on it but I figured that I can always return it or sell it.

So far, I am pleased with the performance. Many people say that it doesn’t have much suction and it leaves the carpet soaked. I found this not be the case with mine. It has plenty of power for its size. I cannot account for cleaning techniques used by others, but you must apply a good amount of pressure to make it work well. But lets face it, that’s just how carpet cleaners work, the big carpet cleaners are heavy enough that you don’t have to push down. This little things works just as well as my big machine when you apply enough pressure. It actually leaves the carpet a little dryer than the big machines I have used.

Others have also complained about the sprayer, saying that it sprays too much or too wide. I found that if I hold the cleaning head on the carpet like you are supposed to, it sprays a nice heavy stream that is only about a 1/2″ wider than the cleaning head. So, if you wet and scrub the carpet first, and then hold the cleaning head flat on the carpet, pull the trigger, and pull the cleaner head across the carpet slowly, much in the way the instructions say to do it, the Little Green works very well.

I have not yet tried it in a vehicle yet, but it works very well on the carpet in my house, taking up stains that have been there for years. I also have not yet tried the cleaning solution that comes with the cleaner. So far I have had pretty good luck with just warm tap water. I also tried it in conjunction with Tuff Stuff, and the Little Green does a good job picking up the dirt left behind and any residual Tuff Stuff.
