4 Stars Great cleaner if you can get one that works
Our bissell broke after only 1 1/2 years which made us look for a better quality machine.(We HATED the clean water in the dirty water tank)
We purchased this Hoover from another online site and received a defective machine. (The brushes would stop spinning every 20 seconds) We sent it back and got another and it had the same problem plus a gasket had been mutilated so it would make a fog horn noise that would wake the dead. We then contacted Hoover who sent us a new machine without even waiting for the defective one to be returned.
I am glad we endured the waiting for a working product. This is one great product. It does a wonderful job in cleaning the floor and the carpet is dry within a couple of hours. It is a little heavy to carry up stairs so if weight is a problem, this most likely isn’t a machine for you. It rolls easily and just does a great job. If we hadn’t received 2 defective machines, I would have given this a 5 star rating.

5 Stars Great product!
I was thrilled with the job from this carpet cleaner. It did a great job on my carpets. Then I took it to my dad’s place. He had beige carpet that has had spots on it that have been there for the past 7 years. We had cleaned it in the past but the carpet was still so bad he was going to replace it. I used the new Hoover Platinum and the carpets look fantastic. Not a stain left. The pile was fluffed up and looks great. Thank you Hoover!
5 Stars Best residential cleaner
I had the pros out like 5 years ago and dropped 2 bills for them to blow through my house in an hour and just do an o.k. job. I’ld been in the market for a decent residential carpet cleaner ever since but put off purchasing since our family room has Berber carpet and I didn’t think the lower end models would do the job. In the meantime the carpet got darker and darker every year. Although this cleaner is double what I thought I’ld be spending it did an amazing job cleaning 5 years of dirt out of our Berber and I’m confident it will perform amazingly in the rest of the house. Follow the directions, vacuum first, don’t use boiling water, and try to make each rinse(up)/wash(back)/suction(up&back) pass in the recommended 24 second cycles. The investment gets you an excellent residential carpet cleaner with a nice long warranty and will pay for itself after a several complete uses given what services charge to come out to your house. Skip going for bigger bucks for an enormous commercial grade carpet cleaner or a shorter dollar for a lighter & weaker carpet cleaner (especially if you have Berber or high grade carpets). This Hoover model does the job and appears to have a high build quality to ensure many useful years of use.
5 Stars Steam cleaner
Finally! A machine that works as promised. Somewhat hesitant to buy this unit originally based on other reviews concerning the overuse of plastic on the unit but so far it’s working well. I was glad to chunk my old Bissell (only 2 years old) since it was very prone to clogging. This Hoover model was expensive but it does come with a six year warranty and I fully expect to get at least six years use from it. The blue light is very helpful in finding pet stains which is our main concern.
They are more than fair and bend over backward to make the customer happy. mew
